as per 2011 census, the population of Mizoram is 10, 91,014. Since 2001, Mizoram has been experiencing 22.8% growth. 52% population in Mizoram live in urban areas. This is higher than national average.
Topography
Mizoram has the highest forest cover in India & has been covered by 27 major hill ranges. Average height of the hills are 1000 metres to the west of the state. It increases upto 2,210 metres.
Climate
has a mild climate, but increase in temperature has been observed in recent times. Cyclones & landslides generally are responsible for hazard emergencies.
Agriculture
around 60 % are engaged in agriculture. Paddy is the largest grown crop in the state followed by fruits, condiments & spices. Mizoram leads in Horticulture & Floriculture.
