Location
located in the north-eastern region of India & shares boarder with Indian states such as Assam, and Mizoram. It also shares boarder with Bangladesh.
Demographics
as per 2011 census, the population of Tripura is 3,671,032. It is the second most populous country in the north-east India. The literacy rate in Tripura is higher than the national average and is the third best among all the states.
Topography
It is the third smallest state in the country and characterized by ranges, valleys and plains. This is also noteworthy that number of rivers originate from Tripura and flows into Bangladesh.
Climate
Has tropical savanna climate. South west monsoon is primarily reason for heavy rains and consequently becomes root reason for floods.
Agriculture
Cropping pattern is characterized by settled cultivation in plains and shifting cultivation in hills. Major crops are rice, maize, pigeon pea, black gram, green gram, ground nut, and sesame
Infrastructure
There is only one major road which connects the state to other parts of the country, that is, NH-8. But, Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport is busiest airport of North-east India after Guwahati.
